Rambam - Sefer HaMitzvos As Divided for The Daily Learning Schedule Positive Mitzvah 98 |
Day 227 | Day 229 |
This is not an error of duplication. The full-fledged version of this Mitzvah are many and change for those who are learning the one/three chapter a day. The Message for the day from "Bringing Heaven Down to Earth" at the end of this Mitzvah is different than that of yesterday.Positive Mitzvah 98: Impurity of Food and Drink
Leviticus 11:34 "Of all the food which may be eaten...and all drink that may be drunk"Food and drink can become impure if they have come in contact with a source of impurity.
People misunderstand the meaning of tolerance.Tolerance doesn't mean seeing someone harming himself and saying, "Live and let live". That's indifference. Apathy. If you see someone going the wrong way and you care about him, you'll do everything you can to set him straight. Tolerance means that although you see his faults in all their ugliness naked before you, that doesn't decrease by one iota your respect for him as a fellow human being, and for all the good he has within him.
And if you say, "How can I be expected to lead a life of paradox, to both respect and rebuke at once?"
Let me ask you, Do you have any faults? And do you not respect yourself nonetheless?
If you can live a life of paradox for yourself, you can give at least that privilege to the other guy.
